Tamara Kvesitadze

Tamara Kvesitadze is an architect, sculptor and painter, born in Tbilisi, Republic of Georgia in 1968. Her work is about contrasts and the concept of rebirth and continuity is obvious in her figures. Georgia is a country between the East and the West, where the two civilisations meet, and  these contrasts become important part of her work.

Her figures are beautiful in their timelessness and simplicity.

The sculptures poise between the organic and the mechanical, they move poetically, almost dance.

Drama And The Jeweller

“When Drama meets the Art of Jewelry …”

From “Electra” to “Evdokia” and from “Stella” to “Antigone”, women symbols, archetypes and femmes fatales become the muses to creators-masters of earth’s most precious treasures.

J.A.W. Jewellery Art Workers is a group of 20 artists that attemps to outline, each on his own way, a part of Greek Cinema history.

The exhibition took place at Mihalis Kakogiannis Institute, in Athens on November 2011 and I had the pleasure to attend and photograph the impressive exhibits. It was really interesting to admire the beautiful jewelry while reading the story of the famous movies and the heroines that inspired them. Enjoy the pictures!
