A House In Australia
Lately I find my self to love the australian deco style. Like this beautiful and moody house near Castlemaine in Victoria that belongs to Luke Mortimer. He loved the place, built a house and named it Grey Gardens.
He rents the place to couples that look for the perfect refuge from the busy noisy town. In his blog he shares his deco adventures!
Most of the furniture are flea market finds or even street finds.
I absolutely love the drum-nightstand! The art above the bed is actually an embroidery made by his grandma.

A Modern Teen Room
A modern teen room, airy and spacious thanks to this bed that can be hidden under the raised floor space. I love the delicate femine details and the white furniture!

Liquid Flowers by Jack Long
Try to guess for a minute what is the subject of the photographer!
Flowers maybe?
Well …no! These beautiful colorful photographs by Jack Long are actually high speed photographs of colored water! They are captured in a specific way to mimic the shape of blooms, leaves and pots. Each photograph from Vessels and Blooms series is captured in a stunningly precise way that took months of trial and experiments. He created cocktails of dyes, thickeners and pigments for each component of the shot and then blasted them through a customized mechanism before snapping a perfectly timed capture. You can see much more of his work on Flickr and 500px.

Paintings By Lara Merrett
Lara Merrett was born in Melbourne but grew up in Sydney. A trip to New York at the tender age of 16 ignited in her a passion for fine art. Later, study trips to both Spain and New York cemented this passion. She studied painting at Sydney’s College of Fine Art, where she received a Bachelor and Masters of Fine Art in 1997. After completing her studies she won a scholarship to undertake a residency in India in 2001. We can see this influence in her works, which are created intuitively in inks, acrylics, vinyl and metallics, using intense layers of colour. After some time spent living in Melbourne she is now based again in Sydney with her family.

Alexander Calder’s Jewelry
Alexander Calder was an American sculptor and artist ..Born in a family of classically trained artists, Calder utilized his innovative genius to change the course of modern art. He began by developing a new method of sculpting: by bending and twisting wire, he essentially “drew” three-dimensional figures in space. He is renowned for the invention of the mobile, whose suspended, abstract elements move and balance in changing harmony. Calder also devoted himself to making outdoor sculpture on a grand scale from bolted sheet steel. Alexander Calder also created paintings, lithographs, toys, tapestry, jewelry and household objects. Let’s have a look at his fabulous jewelry, some of it it is hard to believe it was designed so many decades ago!

Wood Casting
Israeli designer Hilla Shamia joins the materials of aluminum and wood in order to create the Wood Casting series. Using a whole tree trunk, she pours molten aluminum onto the wood. The wood gets cut up and put into a mold to form the frame and legs of the piece. Each piece is unique!
